Updates to the Electronic Cigarettes Act

Updates to the Electronic Cigarettes Act

The Electronic Cigarettes Act (ECA) will be repealed and all components will be regulated under the Smoke-Free Ontario Act beginning July 1, 2018.  The updated Smoke-Free Ontario Act (SFOA) will regulate the sale, supply, use, display, and promotion of tobacco and vapour products (i.e. electronic cigarettes, accessories and heat-not-burn devices).

Existing rules for electronic cigarettes under the ECA will remain in place and in addition, new rules regarding display and promotion will come into force. More information will be posted on the website in the coming weeks.
